The Spiritual Leaders Association (SLA) and the Lutheran Student Center (LSC) have partnered to ensure that UNI Students who are food insecure have access to basic necessities. The Student Food Pantry is located inside the Lutheran Student Center, within walking distance of the edge of the UNI campus, at 2616 College Street (corner of College and University). The Food Pantry is open from 4:30 - 6:30 on Wednesdays during the Academic Year, and always by appointment at (319) 266-1653.
The Food Pantry:
- typically has cereal, canned fruit/vegetables, canned soup, canned meats, peanut butter, toiletries, toilet paper, etc.
- tries to keep stock of can openers and basic necessities that students may not have, but would need in order to eat the food available
- is open from 4:30 - 6:30 on Wednesdays, during the Academic year, and always by appointment at (319) 266-1653
Upon arrival, students are asked to sign in with their student ID number and then they can take the food they need. The Food Pantry has bags and cardboard boxes available to help carry food.
A flier is available for distribution to students, faculty and staff to share information about the Food Pantry.
