Dr. Leslie Williams serves as the Dean of Students. Dr. Williams assists students and families in times of crisis or concern, provides assistance to faculty in managing student issues, administers the Student Conduct Code, works with the Parents Association and oversees Student Disability Services, the LGBT* Center, Student Assistance Outreach, and Military and Veteran Services.

Kelly Gibbs serves as a central resource on disability-related information, procedures, and services while ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. She assists students by determining eligibility for accommodations and supports University efforts to ensure an accessible, welcoming environment for individuals with disabilities.

As the Disability Specialist for Student Disability Services, Jenny assists students by determining eligibility for accommodations, providing challenge and support through the office's Weekly Mentoring program, overseeing the conversion of course material into accessible format, and offering assistive technology resources and outreach events.

As the Department Secretary for Student Disability Services, responsibilities include overseeing the day to day operations of the office including; ordering supplies, managing the office flow of students, faculty, staff and community, processing Reader and Scribe requests for exams, and reconciling the SDS budget.

As the graduate assistant with Student Disability Services, Lindsey works primarily one-on-one with clients enrolled in the Weekly Mentoring Program to assist with development of time management, organizational, prioritization and goal setting skills. Lindsey also creates the newsletters, assists in administration of academic accommodations, and organizes educational outreach events.

 

Military & Veteran Student SVCS Coordinator

Supports military members, veterans, and their families at UNI as they transition between military duty, college, and new careers. Committed to faculty and staff education, on and off campus, resource networking, advocacy, and listening to each student to ensure that each military affiliated students' voice is heard and they are empowered to achieve success in class and beyond.

Emily Harsch serves as the first full-time staff member for LGBTQ+ students, allies, the University community and the Cedar Valley. Emily works in an advocacy role across campus as a resource to LGBTQ+ students and their allies as the main point of contact for the LGBT* Center. Emily manages and maintains the Safe Zone Program, coordinates the Center's outreach efforts and annual events, including Lavender Graduation and Rainbow Reception, and works with students directly.
