Allyson Rafanello

Allyson Rafanello serves as the Dean of Students with oversight of Student Conduct, Student Care and Concern, and Student Accessibility Services. Allyson spends her days supporting her team, working directly with students faculty, staff, and family members to resolve issues or concerns, and as a active part of the Student Affairs Leadership Team. Allyson joined the Panther family in 2014 and served in several roles prior to stepping into the Dean of Students role in 2018. Her educational background includes a bachelors degree in Journalism from Indiana University, a masters degree in Student Affairs Administration in Higher Education from Ball State University, and she is  currently working on the final steps of earning her doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Northern Iowa. Prior to life at UNI, Allyson worked in Housing & Residence Life at several institutions.   

  


Janel Newman

Janel Newman serves as the Assistant Dean of Students. Her primary responsibilities include administering the Student Conduct Code and working with students, faculty, staff, and families to provide assistance in managing student issues and concerns. Janel joined the Dean of Students staff in 2018 after serving as the Director of Student Conduct and Community Standards at the State University of New York at Potsdam. Janel received her bachelors degree in Business Administration from SUNY Canton and her masters of Education in Organizational Leadership from SUNY Potsdam. Janel is pursuing her Doctorate in Education at UNI. Prior to her work in conduct and concern, Janel served eight years in Residence Life and Housing at various institutions.

Natalie Earnest serves as a Graduate Assistant in the Dean of Students area. In her role, she is primarily responsible for administering student conduct cases and providing support to students of concern. She is currently pursuing her masters degree in Postsecondary Education: Student Affairs. Natalie received her bachelors degree from UNI in Psychology.

Bri Griffin serves as a Graduate Intern in the Dean of Students area. In her role, she is primarily responsible providing support to students of concern. She is currently pursuing her masters degree in Social Work with plans to graduate in Spring 2021. Bri earned her bachelors degree in Social Work from North Central University.

Rachel Koop serves as a Graduate Assistant in the Dean of Students area. In her role, she is primarily responsible for administering student conduct cases and providing support to students of concern. Rachel is currently pursuing her masters degree in Postsecondary Education: Student Affairs after graduating with her bachelor's degree from UNI in 2019.

Kelly Fiddelke serves as a central resource on disability-related information, procedures, and services while ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. She supports students by determining eligibility for accommodations and University efforts to ensure an accessible, welcoming environment for individuals with disabilities.

As the Student Accessibility Services Coordinator, Jenny supports students by determining eligibility for accommodations and collaborating with faculty and staff to implement them across campus, representing the department at outreach events, and supervising graduate staff.

Kristin Mossman serves as the graduate assistant in Student Accessibility Services. Kristin received her bachelors degree in Sociology from Minnesota State University, Mankato. Kristin is pursuing her Masters in Post-Secondary Education: Student Affairs at UNI.
